Diabetes
Diabetes is something that you can develop slowly without you realising
it and many are not aware that they have Diabetes. It is a condition
where people have to much glucose in their blood, and therefore need
to increase their intake of insulin because their insulin doesn’t work
properly. By having a blood test done at your doctor it can be verified
if you are Diabetes.
Some of the symptoms of Diabetes is feeling more tired that you usually
do. Also being thirsty, passing urine more often, blurred vision, and taking
longer for sores to heal. If you are Diabetes you need to change glucose
from food into energy for your body to work. A hormone called insulin is
essential for conversion of glucose into energy.
Insulin is a hormone which helps glucose move from the blood into the cells.
Glucose is carried around your blood and it comes from the food we eat,
especially food like fruit, soft drinks, bread, pasta and rice. When people
are Diabetes the glucose stays in the blood instead of being turned into
energy. This is why blood glucose levels are higher in people with Diabetes.
Diabetes can not be cured but it can be managed by keeping an eye on your
blood glucose level so it is not too high and not to low but nice and balanced.
That way you can control the rate at which your Diabetes get worse and
lessen your chances of getting severe Health problems.
People with Diabetes often have to take some different medicines for their
Diabetes and often have to change their medicines as their needs change.
In people with Diabetes, insulin is no longer produced in sufficient amounts by
the body and there may come a time as the Diabetes get worse when the
doctor advise you to take tablets or insulin to control your blood glucose levels.
